Who is Clarence Gonstead?
The Gonstead technique is named after its founder; Dr Clarence Gonstead. Dr Gonstead was a mechanical engineer who applied the specific and scientific principles of mechanics to the human body. After much study, refining and practice, the Gonstead technique was born!
Clarence Gonstead’s care was so effective that patients came from all over the world, resulting in his practice having it’s own hotel and airport.
Today we continue his practice in its same honest and original form. Gonstead Chiropractic is honest, specific, non intrusive and highly effective. Therefore we see everyone from 1 day old to over 100 years old with equally great results.

What can you expect from your Gonstead Chiropractor?
During consultation, our clinician will first ask you some questions about your medical history. After doing so, the clinician will proceed on with physical examination which includes visualisation, instrumentation, static palpation, and motion palpation.
Visualisation: This is a simple procedure whereby the clinician checks for any physical signs that might be able to help them to find out the cause of your problem.
Instrumentation: The clinician will use a device, which is known as a Nervoscope, and run through your spine. This device will help detect any heat differences along the spine. Uneven spread of heat along the spine is an indication of inflammation and nerve impingement.
Static Palpation: This is when the clinician feels for your spine for any tenderness, swelling, or any abnormal texture.
Motion palpation: This process allows the clinician to feel for the movement of each spinal segment and analyse for any restrictions.
The whole consultation will require about 30 minutes of your time.
At the beginning of your first treatment, our clinician will analyse your x-ray films to find out the cause of your problem. After that, your treatment will begin!
Gonstead adjustments are not random “cracking” onto your spine instead, it is a specific correction to one spinal segment or any joint dysfunction.
